Review: This film has not received much press and widely distributed. Unfortunately, this is probably due to Nic Cage, which is a shame. First he's very focused and subdued (theres no wild-man Nicholas Cage in the movie). In fact, he plays a police state of Alaska is deeply devoted decent convinced that a serial killer (also well played by a creepy John Cusack) is stalking women in Anchorage. The film tones down the gore, while showing the seedy underworld soul-crushing when Cusack finds its victims. A very interesting advantage is that almost all police officers are in the movie are hard working people who want to catch this killer, but they know they have to work within the law to ensure that no fall in court. Vanessa Hudgins makes a very good performance as a victim who escaped and was instrumental in identifying the killer. The director does a good job of capturing the ghostly silence of the cold north, where many victims were buried this man. In short, a beautiful and evocative film both exciting and sad. Well worth your time.
